Claiming and managing a channel
Ownership, membership, posting gates, roles, rules, and moderation.
The wallet that matches the channel target can claim its channel. An unclaimed channel remains readable and uses open posting by default.
Separate joining from posting
- Joining: free or a one-time ETH membership payment. A paid membership is permanent under the current MVP contract.
- Posting: everyone, members, minimum ETH balance, ERC-20 balance, ERC-721 ownership, or ERC-1155 balance.
These settings answer different questions. A user may bookmark or read a channel without joining, and joining does not bypass a separate asset gate unless the posting mode is Members.
Roles
Owner controls all channel settings. Policy Admin manages policy delegated by the Owner. Moderator handles day-to-day moderation but cannot pin messages. Role wallets do not automatically bypass membership or asset checks when posting; removing a role therefore cannot leave a permanent posting privilege.
Rules, bans, moderation decisions, and pins must be represented by their protocol events when they affect canonical state. Client-only keyword filters remain personal preferences.
